Position Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of program serving homeless veterans and military families to include developing statewide partner networks, program compliance, site operations, staffing and budgeting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of 20+ staff providing rapid rehousing and prevention case management services to 600+ homeless or at-risk veterans annually
- Ensure effective supervision and management of team in Alabama
- Serve as primary liaison with the local Veterans Administration and Homeless Continuums of Care throughout service area
- Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with federal, state, and community-based organizations that promote effective services to veterans
- Increase awareness and capacity of Priority Veteran as a resource for veterans and military families
- Review grant spending and financial reports to ensure timely and accurate utilization of federal funds
- Ensure compliance of funding sources including local, state, and federal
- Ensure compliance of CARF regulations and guidelines
- Responsible for implementing PV strategic plan for Alabama program
- Oversee outcomes of all program activities to ensure objectives are met
- Coordinate Continuous Quality Improvement Plan for Alabama program
- Ensure program operations are efficient and data and reports are accurate
- Responsible for assisting with reporting as required by SSVF, VA, and CARF
- Support VP of Development and Compliance in completing data entry, generating reports, and completing grant applications
- Actively participate in fund development that supports the work of Priority Veteran
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven management experience, including supervising large and/or tiered teams of staff
- Knowledge of case management best practices, including trauma-informed care and person-first approach
- Strong understanding of compliance, policies, and funding requirements
- Proven community development, presentation, and networking skills
- Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite and Client Management Systems
- High attention to detail
- Knowledge of federal, state and local veteran and military family programs preferred
Education/Experience
- Master’s degree required from in service-related field (e.g. social work, counseling, business administration, public administration); Licensed preferred
- Minimum eight years of relevant professional work experience including program management, development, supervision, and agency resource development. Military experience preferred
- Experience in lieu of degree considered
Requirements
- Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to be insured by UWCA’s insurance.
- Valid Alabama driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance commensurate with State law.
- Background checks to include but not limited to criminal record, drug screen and TB testing.
